Eddé Family
Michel Eddé is the CEO of the daily newspaper L’Orient Le Jour and the monthly economic magazine Le Commerce du Levant. Known to be a strong advocate of the Francophonie, he has served in several ministries - more specifically Information and Culture - from 1966 to 1998. Michel is also the President of the Maronite Foundation, in which other media owning families are represented (Kallassi, Boustani, Frem, among others). Michel’s son, Salim, is the co-founder of the multinational financial software company Murex. Michel’s daughter, Isabelle, is married to Philippe Helou, son of former MP Pierre Helou and brother of current MP Henri Helou. Philippe and Isabelle’s sons, Michel and Selim, both serve on the board of L’Orient-Le Jour, and Michel is the newspaper’s Executive Director, where he has been leading the digital transformation.
